"I truly believe if you do not have your health, you have nothing. This shell, this body we live in needs careful constant care and takes more than showing up at the gym for the weekly tune-up. Our fitness journey starts with a lifestyle decision. Transformation must first occur in the mind and the body will naturally follow. But, we have to give ourselves a break and think of ourselves as living breathing science experiments. What works for some does not work for others. Results do not happen overnight, nor can they be attained in pill form. If it did we as instructors would be out of a job. So one thing remains true in all cases, there must always be patience, determination and will power. This my friends, is when and where the magic happens”

I moved from West Texas to Boulder in 2000 to attend the University of Colorado. I received my Bachelors degree in Sociology. After working for a non-profit in Boulder and teaching Skiing for Aspen Ski Company on the side I decided to pursue a Masters in Social Work. I graduated with my MSW in 2009 from the University of Denver and have been working with at-risk adolescents in a residential setting for the last year and a half. I have been an avid skier since I was three as well as played on several different competitive sports teams. I completed spin yoga training in October with Qi & Qi Yoga teacher certification in April. I enjoy teaching at QI because it takes the mind, body connection to the next level. I love pushing the body to the limits and not letting your mind tell you to stop. Watching the different students lives change is worth more than money can buy. Qi allows you to evolve into the person you have wanted to be. In the summer you can find me hiking with my dog, Tex, or running around City Park. I love all that Colorado offers and enjoy calling Colorado home.
